Marta S. Ramírez-Isern is a Member of the Corporate Department at O’Neill & Borges LLC, where she has been practicing since 2010. Her expertise encompasses real estate, commercial lending, and corporate law, with a notable focus on intricate financing transactions, mortgage and notarial law, and real estate development.

Marta is renowned for her comprehensive representation of both local and international financial institutions across a broad spectrum of transactions, including asset-based and real estate-secured loans, participated financings, and loan workouts and restructuring. She provides strategic counsel on real estate and notarial law matters, such as property segregation, horizontal property regimes, and lease negotiations and drafting, representing the interests of both landlords and tenants. She has been consistently recognized by Best Lawyers as a leading real estate, commercial finance and corporate attorney.

Her experience includes pivotal roles in high-profile loan portfolio acquisitions. Marta was part of the legal team that advised Caribbean Property Group LLC on the due diligence and acquisition of commercial and construction loan portfolios exceeding $1 billion from Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, Banco Santander Puerto Rico, and FirstBank Puerto Rico. Additionally, she contributed to the legal representation of Abbey Finance Holdings PR, LLC in its acquisition of approximately $623.8 million in residential mortgage loans and real estate owned properties from Doral Bank and related entities, as well as $200.6 million in commercial mortgage loans and properties.
