Biography

Rocío Freytes Martín joined O’Neill & Borges LLC as an associate attorney in the Litigation Department in 2026. While in law school, she interned as a student judicial clerk for the Honorable Bruce J. McGiverin, Magistrate Judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, and for the Honorable Luis F. Estrella Martínez, Associate Judge of the Puerto Rico Supreme Court, experiences that strengthened her legal research, analytical, and writing skills across a broad range of litigation matters.

During her time in law school, Ms. Freytes Martín served as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Puerto Rico Business Law Journal and worked as a Teaching Assistant for Dean Emeritus Antonio García Padilla in Commercial Law Seminars, Commercial Contracts, and Secured Transactions. She is the author of multiple scholarly publications in the University of Puerto Rico Business Law Journal and ranked 25th among all candidates who passed the September 2025 Puerto Rico Bar Examination. Prior to pursuing her legal career, she worked as a research analyst with various non-governmental organizations across the European Union, focusing on law, gender, and economic policy.

Ms. Freytes Martín holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from The George Washington University and a Master of Science in Development Practice from Trinity College Dublin. She is a Juris Doctor graduate from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law and also holds an L.L.B. from the University of Barcelona.
