Biography
Nelson A. Martínez-Núñez joined the firm in 2021 as an associate attorney in the Corporate Department.
Nelson focuses his practice on environmental, energy and land use laws.
Nelson advises clients on environmental, energy, land use, and general corporate matters related to domestic corporate transactions, project permitting, and regulatory disputes, covering federal and Puerto Rico statutes, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, as well as regulations governing fuel storage and distribution.
He frequently supports corporate transactions conducting due diligence reviews on environmental and compliance matters for industrial and commercial clients. He also has experience representing oil and gas companies before the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources in enforcement matters related to the Underground Storage Tank program.
Prior to joining O’Neill & Borges, Nelson worked as an aerospace engineer for a multinational aerospace company where he gained valuable experience with complex federal regulatory matters which later sparked his interest in pursuing a legal career in environmental law.
