Biography
Laura G. Brenes Parra is an associate in the Litigation Department at O’Neill & Borges LLC, where she focuses her practice on commercial litigation. She joined the firm in 2024 after serving as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Maite D. Oronoz Rodríguez, Chief Justice of the Puerto Rico Supreme Court. She also served as a legal advisor to the Secretariat of the Judicial and Notarial Conference and collaborated with the Special Committee for the Revision of Puerto Rico’s Rules of Professional Conduct, contributing to the research and drafting of the Report on the Draft Code of Professional Conduct.
While in law school, Laura also worked as a student judicial clerk for the Honorable Roberto Sánchez Ramos, Administrative Judge of the Puerto Rico Court of Appeals. Her professional experience has strengthened her research, analytical, and writing skills, particularly in complex civil and appellate matters.
Laura graduated summa cum laude from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law in 2022, where she also served as Senior Editor of the University of Puerto Rico Law Review. She co-authored “Casos más destacados del Tribunal Supremo de Puerto Rico para el término 2023–2024: Hon. Maite D. Oronoz Rodríguez, Jueza Presidenta,” published in Revista Jurídica de la Asociación de Abogados de Puerto Rico (Vol. 5, No. 2, 2024). Her academic excellence was recognized when she ranked sixth among the candidates who passed the Puerto Rico Bar Examination in September 2022.
