Ms.
Lázaro-San
Miguel
has
a
diverse
corporate
practice,
which
includes
assisting
U.S.
and
foreign
based
entities
with
the
establishment
of
their
operations
in
Puerto
Rico.
She
also
has
a
significant
amount
of
experience
in
mergers
and
acquisitions,
insurance
and
employee
benefits.
In
the
mergers
and
acquisitions
areas,
Ms.
Lázaro-San
Miguel
has
represented
both
sellers
and
buyers
in
various
types
of
transactions
in
several
industries,
including
management
buyouts
and
privatization
of
government-owned
businesses.
In
the
Insurance
area,
Ms.
Lázaro-San
Miguel
assists
clients
on
regulatory
matters
and
represents
clients
before
the
Office
of
the
Commissioner
of
Insurance
in
matters
such
as
authorization
to
do
business,
audits
and
requests
of
approvals
for
different
types
of
transactions.
Ms.
Lázaro-San
Miguel
has
also
represented
various
clients
in
the
acquisition
of
insurance
businesses
in
Puerto
Rico.
In
the
employee
benefits
area,
Ms.
Lázaro-San
Miguel
has
assisted
many
clients
with
the
establishment
of
new
employee
benefit
plans
or
with
the
implementation
in
Puerto
Rico
of
plans
that
are
in
place
in
the
U.S.
She
also
advises
clients
on
compliance
with
Puerto
Rico
and
Federal
laws
and
regulations,
and
assists
clients
in
their
dealings
with
Puerto
Rico
regulatory
agencies.
