Marie
Guiven-López is an associate in the Corporate Department. She joined O'Neill & Borges in 2008. Before joining O’Neill & Borges,
Mrs. Guiven-López worked for the Government of Puerto Rico for 10 years holding various positions linked to Puerto Rico’s economic development
in the areas of industry and commerce, tourism, land use and urbanism, among others. More specifically, she served as Assistant
Secretary at the Department of Economic Development and Commerce and as Deputy Executive Director of Tourism Development at the Puerto
Rico Tourism Company. At the Tourism Company, for example, she oversaw the strategic areas of tourism planning, financing and incentives
created to foster the development of new tourism facilities. Additional public functions of Mrs. Guiven-López include direct involvements
with DTOP, the Urbanism Directorship and the Puerto Rico Land Administration. In the beginning of her career at the Government, she worked
as Consultant and Urban Designer for the Territorial Plan of the Municipality of San Juan.
Before joining the Government, Mrs. Guiven-López worked as an Architect in training in various architecture and engineering firms where she was involved in
different aspects of public and private projects. She is a member of the College of Architects and Landscape Architects of Puerto Rico and has
courses leading to certification as real estate appraiser and broker.
