Jorge A. Rullán is a member in the Litigation Department. He joined O'Neill & Borges LLC in 2001, and has been in private law practice since 1996. Mr. Rullán has represented several corporate entities (including Schindler Elevator, Emerson Process Management, Southwire Company, Marsh USA, the Puerto Rico Housing Department, Avatar Electronics and General Electric) in multi-million dollar tort actions, construction claims, environmental litigation, and contractual and administrative disputes in both federal and local courts. Mr. Rullan assisted Marsh USA in securing the dismissal of a multi-million dollar tort and contract suit filed before the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. Also, Mr. Rullan assisted Southwire Company in securing the following rulings: Southwire Company v. Ramallo Bros. Printing, 2006 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 92926 (D.P.R.)(plaintiffs sufficiently laid out a case under the CERCLA provisions and cause of action was found viable even if plaintiff had not been previously sued as a result of the contamination; RCRA claim for injunctive relief also valid); Southwire Company v. Ramallo Bros. Printing, 2008 U.S Dist. LEXIS 19250 (D.P.R.)(No dismissal of CERCLA lawsuit based on statement in criminal plea agreement.).
