Amaya Iraolagoitia is a member in the Corporate Department of O'Neill & Borges LLC where she concentrates in tax and tax exemption.
She joined O'Neill & Borges LLC in 2008. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Ms. Iraolagoitia has extensive experience in local tax litigation and administrative procedures. Her practice includes consulting
and representation of clients in administrative procedures and litigation involving income, excise, municipal license, property, and
sales and use taxes. Her practice also includes tax planning and structuring of transactions and business operations, as well as estate
tax planning. In this practice, she regularly represents clients before the Puerto Rico taxing authorities with respect to tax audits, private
letter rulings, closing agreements, and the negotiation of tax incentives. Amaya Iraolagoitia has participated in the drafting of Puerto Rico laws and regulations.
She is a member of the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants and served as president of the Regulations committee and member of the tax, legislation,
sales and use tax, and fiscal reform committees. She is the president of the Puerto Rico Manufacturing Association’s Tax Committee. She was the president of the Technical
Committee that drafted the new Economic Incentives for the Development of Puerto Rico Act. She regularly lectures before the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants
and the Puerto Rico Manufacturing Association.
